okay so I've been trying to get one of these for quite sometime... I've noticed a large increase in the amount of gold colossal scimitars, so I was wonder where have any of you found or farmed them?

I tried cr in the barbarous coast... and well i guess i could keep trying that, I was also killing every corsair in that zone.

I recently searched for colossal scimitars in search and came across an idea for soloing the beginning of moddok where u kill the corsairs in the very beginning(where u talk to the corsair captain) over and over and people have claimed to get them from doing this... but after the first few runs it doesnt even seem possible that they will drop a max dmg one. >_<

*********Here is My Updated W/Rt Build that works wonders ^_^***********

9 strength (8+1)
3 axe (runes don’t really matter)
12 restoration
12 tactics (1+1 helm)

There no need for any sup being used

VwK - elite
Vengeful
Cyclone axe
Shield stance
Healing sig
Dolyak
Bonettis
Resilient Weapon

Swap in or out watch yourself/ resilient/ vengeful
Vengeful isn’t really needed that much unless You Feel That killing the Corsairs at diff times (not all at the same) Spacing the deaths out to try to get more loot, it doesn’t seem to matter too much.

First Decline
again a little distance and hit Shield stance once the corsairs swarm on you... keep adding some distance if u need it
Then throw up VwK and then resilient weapon and Dolyak, be sure to face the corsairs and kite backwards so you’re not taking a ton of criticals in the back.

Keep alternating VwK Shield Stance and Bonettis
Use Bonettis whenever you need energy, resilient is 10e but it lasts for 17 when not under weakness and 16 under weakness.

Moddock Crevice doesnt drop them just keep killing corsairs and opening chests its all you can do now.

imho they could drop in Moddocks too, there are Corsair Weaponmasters, its my guess (!!!) that those might drop em.
id guess HoH is the source of most max-ones tho

but is it just any DoA chest that drops them? or is there a specific zone?

I wouldnt rely on GuildWiki too much for information.
I myself doubt they would drop from doA chests,but if they do,they will probably be extremely rare to get one,and besides,CR in DoA isnt worth hassle anymore in my opinion.
I would stick to farming Barborous Shore and HoH if u do that.

After posting this it seems there a quite a few more ppl in moddok with 2 person parties cause u need dunkarooo

but i've been farming this corsairs and got a 15-21 dmg purple tattooed scimitar which is very rare also..... good +5e for my monk ^_^

but it does seem like it is possible they will drop max dmg weapons now. You just need to get a rare drop.

Yeah probably,but it will take quite a heck of alot of farming runs to get one,unless your a lucky bugger

I did that farming a couple times myself but got bored quite quickly.

Yeah the link to the build I saw through search claims that if u kill those corsairs in the very start of the mission of moddok, that you will have a good chance of getting a colossal.

so far nothing really cept a nice 1 pt off max tattooed scimitar, but it seems possible that they will drop colossals cause i've seen people with non max gold ones..... and I know for sure they did not drop from hoh chest.

I do Shagu anthem (corsair boss) runs in Barbarous shore, lots of corsairs and chests near them but havent found a Colossal yet...but I found a inscribable purp max tatooed scimitar that I sold for 50k here, + Shagus anthem is a great green to farm (18-20k). Lotta corsair raiments grape though ;/

I was recently trying to solo the dajkah inlet challenge mission with my sin only thing i cant kill is the Monks -.- YAA wars = crap
Wiki states that tattooed and colossal have a higher drop rate there so i dunno.... I'm going to most likely solo the coast and cr while I do that.

There is always people like that,but its up to them if they dont wanna share,just way it is.For all you know he could have gotten those weapons through trading himself.

The two most common places for colossal are Barbrous Shores and the Dajkah Inlet challenge mission. But to get a MAX dam and low req is exceedingly rare. There are also reports from HoH, DoA and torment chests but again the chances are extremely slim. A friend of mine did 1000 chests in DoA, no colossal and just one elemental.
